After graduating from California State University Chico in 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies I embarked on a decade journey into the magical world of child development.
Fortunate to be employed with some of the most innovative child development centers in Palo Alto, California, I furthered my studies in Early Childhood Education and became a director of a large non-profit child development center. I was active in the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). I was a teacher, director, outreach coordinator and a staff / parent trainer.
When my first child was born, I opened a home childcare center and remained active with child advocacy. I was president of “Hill N Dale”, a cooperative emergent preschool in Pleasanton, wrote articles for the mother’s group newsletter and served on several boards.
I currently reside on Waiheke Island with my partner and my three daughters ages 15, 12 and 4. I substitute teach at the Steiner Kindergarten and volunteer at Tanya Batt’s story center.
