This Man..

August 23, 2011

This man forgot his 21st birthday. It was some time during a kayaking trip through Canada.

This man has managed to support himself and family by living John Cusack’s dream in Say Anything… “I don’t want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything. I don’t want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed.”

This man lives his principles. And constantly evaluates and evolves them.

This man barters for cups of coffee, pizza and free range meat.

This man has always managed to hitch a ride where ever he needs to go.

This man volunteers much of his present time to create a better future.

This man is a horse to a five-year old girl. And a tour guide. And a tourist.

This man does not understand sarcasm.

This man is fueled by kindness and generosity.

This man defies how things are and lives how things should be.

This man is wanted by many women, but this man comes home to me.

And I never forget his birthday.
