Change of Plans…
October 19, 2011
On impulse I turned to James, “Let’s go on a walk instead.”.
Before he could squeeze out an “OK”, James turned the car around.
Zuva brightened up. She ran out of the car as soon as it stopped and frolicked across the field to the beach and turned west.
“Yay! FREEDOM!” she chanted over and over. “Yay, Yay, Yay!”
I realized how long it has been for an adventure, where both give her our full attention.
She lead us on the long coastal walk. A three hour walk, until we made it to the ferry terminal.
We ate some lunch and made a plan to catch a bus to our car.
But our little leader had other plans….
Another hour and half walk, over a hill.
When we finally reached the car, five hours from our start time, she looked at us and said, “Great, now let’s go THIS way and pointed east.”
“Another day,” we answered wearily.
She begrudgingly got into the car. She was grateful for the earlier change of plans.
